Kalya Residence – Koh Samui

Pocky, Sao, and Ao — the villa's chef, manager, and housekeeping lead — are mentioned by name in nearly every guest review of Kalya. Chef Pocky in particular has built a reputation for Thai home cooking that guests ask to repeat before they've even checked out. The villa itself is a 20-metre infinity pool property on Bophut Hills, part of Panacea Retreat, and shares the estate's staff, kitchen, and security with its four sister residences.

The Villa

Four en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a vaulted-ceiling living pavilion that opens directly onto the pool deck. The layout is genuinely comfortable for eight guests without feeling crowded. A covered dining sala seats ten, and the pool runs the length of the property with sun loungers and a shaded bar at one end. It is one of the smaller residences at Panacea Retreat, which means the staff-to-guest ratio is unusually high.

Location and Neighborhood

Fisherman's Village and Bophut Beach are 3 km down the hill — a five-minute drive for dinner at one of the island's best seafood restaurants. Mae Nam and Bang Rak Beaches sit 6 km in either direction. Big Buddha Temple and Santiburi Golf Course are both 7 km away. Samui International Airport is a 15-minute drive.

Best For

Two families with young children, or two couples who want a private villa without a group so large that the staff can't give everyone attention. Multiple reviews describe Kalya as a family villa that guests return to. For a slightly larger group that still wants the same intimate feel, the four-bedroom Purana Residence is a close sister property.
