Purana Residence – Koh Samui

Purana means "stories" in Sanskrit — an appropriate name for a four-bedroom villa built around the kind of evenings guests remember.

The villa sits on 2,000 square metres of Bophut Hills, part of Panacea Retreat. Vaulted timber ceilings in the main pavilion, a 20-metre pool with a swim-up bar and sunken stools, and a covered dining sala designed for long meals. It is quieter and more intimate than its larger siblings on the estate, which makes it well suited to a single family or two couples who want space and privacy without a group villa's constant activity.

The Villa

Four en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms across two pavilions, all opening onto the pool deck or a private garden terrace. The living and dining areas run under vaulted ceilings that give the interior real volume — a design detail that makes the villa feel larger than its four bedrooms suggest. The pool has a swim-up bar at one end, and the covered sala seats eight comfortably. Daily housekeeping is included.

Location and Neighborhood

Bophut Hills, 3 km from Fisherman's Village and Bophut Beach — a five-minute drive for the island's best seafood and walking street. Mae Nam and Bang Rak Beaches are 6 km away in either direction. Big Buddha Temple is 7 km, and Santiburi Golf Course — an 18-hole championship layout — is also 7 km from the villa. Samui International Airport (USM) is a 15-minute drive.

Best For

A single family with children, or two couples who want the privacy of a villa without a group so large that shared spaces feel crowded. The four-bedroom layout and intimate pool area work especially well for guests who plan to use the villa as a base rather than a venue. For two families travelling together, the adjacent four-bedroom Kalya Residence shares the same hillside and the same staff team.
